It has been a long time since I posted. I am starting again for a couple of reasons. I am looking for customers and I enjoy educating people on preserving their memories. Videotapes, slides, photos and cassette tapes have shelf lives. They need to be electronically saved so family histories, memories and stories can be passed down.

Right now I am working on 2 slide jobs that need to be done by Mother's Day. I also have a bag full of family videos that I am also working on. I just got some audio cassettes from a nice lady in Houghton, Michigan that I am putting on CD.

Preserving Memories

Heat, Cold, Humidity, Dust, etc. All of these things can raise havoc with some of your most prized memories. I am talking about videotapes, audiotapes, old films, slides and photographs. A better way to save all of these special moments is to have them transferred and converted to another format. One that holds up better over time. So far, DVD has stood the test of time. But you can also have video, audio and still images saved on external hard drives, jump drives or to the Cloud.
Mattke Media Solutions can accomplish all this for you.

Every day I am running minute after minute of videotape or foot after foot of 8 mm and Super 8mm film into my editor to burn DVDs.  I making sure that these family moments and histories are preserved for you, your kids, and their kids. I have also scanned thousands of slides and photographs and burned them to CD so they can be preserved and more easily shared. Old audio cassettes or even record albums can be transferred to CD.

Once I have your memories on a DVD or CD I can make multiple copies so everyone in the family can have their own personal piece of history. I use "print-to-the-hub" DVDs and CDs which means I print a personalized image on every disc I produce. If you have your wedding from 1980 transferred from VHS to DVD I will take a photo that you provide or a still frame from the video and use it to make a custom label.

Another personal touch I provide is that the finished DVD you receive will also have a Chapter Menu on it. If you have multiple birthdays, Christmases, Halloweens, or family vacations on your videotapes I split them up into chapters. When you pop in the DVD you can go to the menu and choose what you want to watch. No fast forwarding looking for where Grandma's 90th birthday is or your 25th anniversary or you daughter's first steps. Just click on the thumbnail photo of that scene/chapter and be watching it within moments.

So if you have any questions about pricing or how to go about getting your memories preserved just give me a call or shoot me and email. 920-559-0009 avgod@charter.net

Make that next family gathering a stroll down Memory Lane and watch those old tapes or movies OR look at the old slides or photos. Perfect Christmas gift or Anniversary gift!

Greetings!

If you have any questions about technology like how to hook something up at home or how to work your tablet, laptop or blu-ray player just let me know. I will start blogging here about some of the common questions people have or problems they encounter.

Any questions or comments that you have can be sent to me at:
Mattke Media Solutions EMAIL.

The first 2 people to find me and followup with emails will get 25% off a conversion or transfer job. I convert Super 8mm and 8mm film to DVD. I transfer VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Hi 8mm and 8mm videotapes to DVD. I can also put it in any file format you like. For shorter material I can provide you  a link so you can watch your video online.

Also what separates me from Wal-Mart, Costco, Walgreens, etc. is I DON'T just copy your material to DVD and hand it back to you. I separate your video into chapters that appear in a menu on your DVD. You can more easily navigate through and watch exactly what you want to without having to hunt for it. I do this and I am still LOWER in price than the big box places.

So hit me up with your tech questions or become a customer!

Just a short message here. Figured it was about time I started blogging again. I am still waiting for a friend to call me to explain the advantages to blogging. So call me! I hope to discuss media related topics and help steer people to making right decisions in purchasing services or equipment.

Holidays Almost Behind Us

Mattke Media Solutions is closer to total fruition. The only thing I need is clients/customers. So far money has only gone in one direction, OUT. After acquiring a few more pieces of equipment the stream will hopefully flow IN. I was sorry to disappoint an early client who gave me some 8mm films to transfer but I wasn't quite ready to take on that project. In a couple of weeks I will have my film station complete and be able to transfer/convert 8mm, super 8mm, and 16mm film to DVD.

Someone asked me if I missed my job at the Sturgeon Bay Schools. I have found that I really miss the people but not necessarily the job. I accomplished a lot there and left knowing that I was responsible for a lot of projects and practices.

Back to my business. Valentine's Day will be fast approaching. I just dubbed a wedding video from VHS to DVD. A great gift for a loved one out there would be to have that old wedding video converted to DVD so it will last longer and be easier to view. I split the video into chapters so you can watch it easier.

Pre-Wedding events, Ceremony, Reception, Dance, Interviews, etc. can all be divided into chapters so you don't have to fast forward to find something. Go to Mattke Media Solutions to see how easy it is transfer a videotape to DVD. To add a little extra to the DVD just provide a photo from your wedding and I will print it right on the face of the DVD. So give a special gift for Valentine's Day and get your wedding put on DVD.

Another popular thing at weddings from the past and today is the slide show that is shown at the reception. It usually depicts the bride and groom from birth on up until they met. I also do those Photo Montages and I can add titles and music to make them really, really nice. All services are described on my website. For any special offerings, deals or pricing, check me out on Facebook at  Mattke Media Solutions on Facebook

I guess one more thought before I end this. I am trying to target some businesses for possible projects. I am in search of companies looking to update their in-house safety training or employee training of any kind. If you want to add testimonials from customers to your website I can do that too. Hopefully I can find some companies that don't have a full-time person and are in search of a consultant who won't charge them an arm and a leg!

Until next time . . .

SEO has me Whacko

Had a friend call with another job today. He has a client that he built a house for that needs some computer help. Tragically, the person that had been helping them with these sort of things passed away suddenly. The person who referred me, [Wags] is one of my old teachers and favorite people of all time, so it was nice of him to think of me.
I have been plugging away at a couple of jobs that I got from friends. 8mm film conversion, slide transfer and photo transfer, and a photo manipulation job are the first for Mattke Media Solutions. A display at the bank gave me some possible clients which I will be calling soon. I have another 2 weeks in May at another branch of Associated Bank so I hope to collect more names. I am offering a raffle with 3 service-related prizes and 2 small tech prizes. After the next display runs its course I will be dialing up these people and hoping to gain some business.
With the weather warming up I think I will send out some postcards and put an ad in the paper.
People start doing spring cleaning and find those old films, slides, photos, etc. that they don't know what to do with. I can convert and transfer them to a better media format to preserve them and make them easier to share.
My aim is still to find Industrial clients and produce Manufacturing Process, Product Update, Safety Training and Staff Development videos. I am working with a Small Business consultant to find companies to target. In the past I have done videos for a Utility truck manufacturer, SD Wheat Growers, a welding machine company and a modular builder. I think this will be my niche and I am good at it.
I just have to figure out how to get clients to my doorstep. So back to SEO and lovely Sherri . . .

Promotional Ideas

Set up my display for Mattke Media Solutions yesterday at the west side branch of Associated Bank. Maybe tomorrow after I am dug out from the snowstorm that is hitting I will go over and snap a photo of it. I decided to have a raffle to entice people to pick up my card, a pen and to leave their names and addresses. I also have a brochure with a coupon for 40% off a client's first job with me.

I am giving away my services for 3 projects: 100 photos or slides scanned onto a CD or DVD, up to 2 hours of either 8mm or Super 8mm film transferred to DVD and a 50-100 photo montage set to music. I also am offering 2 small "tech" prizes - a 4 dock charging station for cell phones, iPods, and other personal devices and a clip-on LCD light for laptops or reading. Only one person filled out a registration form for the prize drawing, but more importantly, only one potential client so far.

I am open for suggestions for promoting my new business. The revenue stream has been going one-way so far, in the wrong direction. I have cards, pens, a Facebook page and my webpage is only a few days away from launch. I have been handing out cards and talking to people but it's been pretty slow. I am considering a postcard mailing to "older" friends that might have slides, photos, VHS tapes, etc. sitting around that they may want in a more shareable format.

My intention is to focus on business clients but I enjoy these consumer projects and the satisfaction they bring. For example, taking a box of slides that someone hasn't seen since they were in Vietnam, and making them more viewable is pretty cool. Converting old record albums to CD so you can cruise around and listen to them in the car is also a nice service.

Back to the business clients. I want to offer my services for documenting Manufacturing processes, Quality Control, Safety Training, Staff Development, Product upgrades, etc. I just want to get my foot in the door with a few companies. I know that my skill-set will allow me to help them communicate better with employees and customers.

So if anyone has any ideas how to reach out and find these clients - LET ME KNOW!
