Had a friend call with another job today. He has a client that he built a house for that needs some computer help. Tragically, the person that had been helping them with these sort of things passed away suddenly. The person who referred me, [Wags] is one of my old teachers and favorite people of all time, so it was nice of him to think of me.
I have been plugging away at a couple of jobs that I got from friends. 8mm film conversion, slide transfer and photo transfer, and a photo manipulation job are the first for Mattke Media Solutions. A display at the bank gave me some possible clients which I will be calling soon. I have another 2 weeks in May at another branch of Associated Bank so I hope to collect more names. I am offering a raffle with 3 service-related prizes and 2 small tech prizes. After the next display runs its course I will be dialing up these people and hoping to gain some business.
With the weather warming up I think I will send out some postcards and put an ad in the paper.
People start doing spring cleaning and find those old films, slides, photos, etc. that they don't know what to do with. I can convert and transfer them to a better media format to preserve them and make them easier to share.
My aim is still to find Industrial clients and produce Manufacturing Process, Product Update, Safety Training and Staff Development videos. I am working with a Small Business consultant to find companies to target. In the past I have done videos for a Utility truck manufacturer, SD Wheat Growers, a welding machine company and a modular builder. I think this will be my niche and I am good at it.
I just have to figure out how to get clients to my doorstep. So back to SEO and lovely Sherri . . .
